Realme has launched not one, not two, but three smartphones to expand the family State 12. These are three very similar mid-range devices that are poised to revolutionize the mid-range by offering balanced features and a price tag of less than 400 euros in all respects. Their names: Realme 12 5G, Realme 12+ 5G and Realme 12X 5G.
Yes, it’s a term that can be a bit confusing, especially since the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ are already in the catalog, so below we’re going to see what each one offers and what’s the difference between them. Without further ado we begin.

Realme 12+ 5G: The big brother of the middle brothers
To make everything as understandable as possible, we will go one by one. We start with the strongest model, Realme 12+ 5G, a smartphone with a “luxury watch inspired” design and a vegan leather back, something we don’t usually find in all smartphones. In the central part, a line that looks like a zipper and relief with a generous round module that houses three cameras. All finished with flat edges, curved corners and a thickness of less than eight millimeters.
If we turn it around we can see a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution. Its refresh rate is 120 Hz and its touch sample is twice that, 240 Hz. 2,000 nits of peak brightness (which we’ll access on rare occasions and probably not on a sustained basis) and compatible with HDR10+. The screen, by the way, is one of the main differences with respect to the rest of the model.
Under the hood we have the processor MediaTek Dimension 7050 (six nanometers and eight cores at a maximum speed of 2.6 GHz) with eight or 12 Gigas LPDDR4x RAM and a maximum of 512 GB of internal storage. All these will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging and Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0. This, along with the presence of WiFi 6, will also differ from the following models, since others have WiFi 5.
Finally, it’s worth talking about the camera. Realme 12+ 5G has a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), an eight-megapixel wide angle and a two-megapixel macro. It has a single 16-megapixel camera on the front. According to Realme, the LYT-600 promises better results with portraits, thanks in part to SuperOIS technology (which, on paper, improves stability).
Realme 12 5G: Balanced
we pass Realme 12 5G, which is virtually identical to the previous model on the outside (except for the rear materials). There are some aesthetic differences, slightly more thickness and two grams that will hardly be noticeable in the hand. It is difficult to differentiate them at first glance, but it is worth noting that while the Realme 12+ 5G will be available in green and white, the Realme 12 5G will be available in green and purple.
One of the main differences is in the screen, since this terminal mounts an LCD panel instead of AMOLED. In short, blacks are less pure and brightness is noticeably lower. The diagonal is slightly larger and the resolution, refresh rate and touch sampling are the same: FullHD+, 120 Hz and 240 Hz are not compatible with HDR10+.
We also find differences in the engine, since it has eight Gigas RAM and 256GB of storage (12 and 5612GB don’t seem to be options here) and processor MediaTek Dimension 6100+Which is made of six nanometers and has eight cores like the big brother, but the operating system and battery capacity are the same, but from 67W we go to 45W.
Finally, it’s worth noting that the Realme 12 5G drops the wide-angle sensor and opts for a dual-sensor setup instead: A main one of 108 megapixels and two megapixels for portraits. On the front, for its part, an eight-megapixel sensor (half of the previous model) is at hand.
Realme 12x 5G: The most modest
he Realme 12X 5G It can be summarized in a few paragraphs. It’s practically the same as the Realme 12 5G, but it has a little less power and a lower resolution camera. For all intents and purposes it nails it: same design, same screen, same processor, same battery and same connectivity capabilities, though there are a few differences.
The first is six Gigas RAM and not eight or 12. The second is that the internal storage is only 128 GB. Third and last is the resolution of the main camera, which is 50 megapixels And not the 108. A more basic, cheaper and more modest terminal, though equally attractive for basic use
